What are you guys thoughts on XRP these days? A friend has been discussing this a lot lately about being the next big thing.
The XRP hype has been around for years now, the hope is always that it would become the backing for the derivatives market

Personally I wouldn’t waste my time with XRP, and if you want to invest in crypto, just buy BTC

Just my 2 cents

I want to say XRP was connected to the government in someway but I can't remember off the top of my head. Like that was going to be their CBDC or something.
Yeah, that was my recollection too, and trading of it was halted by the SEC. The person who was talking to me about it wasn't super informed, and seemed to indicate that XRP was backed by gold and silver, like a traditional currency, but I don't believe that to be true. Not sure if it was ever cleared by the SEC.

My thoughts too, but was just wondering if something had changed in the past year or so, as I haven't been watching the crypto markets as closely.

XRP is still locked up in court with the SEC who is trying (and failing) to paint it as a security.

Ripple will either win the case on merit, or the SEC will drop the case. Either way you will see an XRP boost following the conclusion of the lawsuit.

I think XRP will be a transaction network if not a direct CBDC. I also think Stellar (XLM) will be as well. (low gas fees)

I am not a CBDC fan, but think they are inevitable. Have been stacking functional blockchain tech during this dip. One of my horses has to show.

Good info, thanks. Just to confirm though,

1. XRP is currently not able to be purchased
2. XRP is not backed by gold/silver/etc.

You can purchase it, just not on a central exchange. I buy on either Kucoin, or Exodus.

No, not backed by gold/silver etc. When a CBDC is selected by a country/countries they may try to peg the coin to a commodity, but that hasn't happened yet. Or, they could peg to BTC.(or a combination of both)

Russia floated this concept a bit when they originally said you could purchase energy from them with Rubles, or BTC. I wouldn't be surprised if the BRIX countries are the first to launch a CBDC.

So you can buy XRP on Exodus? Interesting. I'll have to check it out. Sounds like you're pretty plugged in overall. If you had to pick a handful of cryptos that you would recommend, what would they be? Or nothing at the moment?

Well, I misspoke. Exodus will hold XRP in wallet, but you cannot buy on Exodus.

My XRP purchases all were made on Kucoin.

It's all speculation on my end. I have been trying to predict what to purchase by seeing what infrastructure is being put in place by different countries and companies. Ripple has made significant infrastructure investments and partnerships around the globe. I also like Algorand and Quant for their utility as well.

Paying attention to who in the Crypto world is at Davos this year. The WEF has already picked their horse by now. It's just not out in the open yet.

The average Joe in the future will not understand that these networks control their transactions. It will all happen behind the scenes of a purchase. The big winner will be the network that replaces SWIFT.

Hedera is screaming right now. They're actually cranking out hundreds of transactions per second. This might be one of the only cryptocurrency platforms that's doing real-world business, as the Atma.io use case went live last week.

Sometime early tomorrow, the Hedera Mainnet will process its 3 billionth transaction. You can click on the link below to check in on it at live.

I have my HBAR and some ADA in Bittrex. Just found out they are leaving US and need to move holdings by end of April. What y'all using for HBAR these days?

idk if already answered but get it out of bittrex asap. if have mine on my ledger wallet and exodus wallet

I tried to transfer from Binance to Exodus but keep getting invalid address.

trying sending it to another wallet, you need to get it out of binance, youve probably already done so tho

very simple, but you need to get it out of these centralized exchanges, you seen what binance did. and coinbase these are unfriendly exchanges. we all had to use cb when we first started but they want all our info now kyc

there are other exchanges where one can be anonymous

Any recommendations other than Exodus?

on wallets? i have ledger nano also. i like exodus because it also doubles as an exchange, there are numerous coins on there one can exchange for btc/eth

Maybe not best option but I moved it over to coinbase. It was very simple and I just wanted to get it moved out ASAP. From your other posts, will try to look into exodus, now that there is no rush to move it around.

I have a friend that is high on it also. Apparently is affiliated with IBM in some fashion. It looks like they are setting up infrastructure for China and other Asian markets.

I bought 10k coins when it was ~ .03 last fall.

Personally, I wouldn't stay on Coinbase too long. They have had many security issues in the past. Very much a hot wallet.

I am happy with my Trezor cold wallet and Exodus warm. The interface between Exodus and Trezor is very user friendly.

whats always been ingrained in me by my crypto mentor is you dont use or keep coins in centralized exchanges

its heavy in kyc and its basically a big ole spot light on you and what you do

unless you dont care but i personally want to be anonymous/invisible

thats precisely why crypto was invented, to circumvent the all seeing eye of the gov/elites

No it’s a legitimate project with a huge following. And the tech is supposedly top notch, but idk anything about it

Anybody else holding a bag of SAUCE? Looking at the tokenomics and considering that it’s essentially Uniswap on Hedera, I could see it being a stupid big mover in the next bullrun

Total supply of SAUCE is 590M, circulating supply unknown… current price is $0.018

For comparison, the total supply of Uniswap is 1B with a 570M circ supply. Uniswap’s current price is $5.34 with an ATH of $45

If Hedera does what I think it will eventually do and rival Ethereum as the dominant L1, this could mean massive returns on SAUCE

Lotta “ifs” though, and I’m wondering about the circulating supply

Everyone who’s in the Hedera ecosystem needs to go grab their free NFT on HashPack. It’s only available until 5/01 so get in while you can

If you don’t have a HashPack wallet it’s available in the Playstore/App Store and also as a Google extension. When you open the wallet, click on “Store” and you will see the icon to mint it. You will need some HBAR obviously for fees but we’re talking cents

There is also a gold NFT that’s available as well that is 500 HBAR + fees, which is roughly $30 USD

Just a heads up if anyone is interested
