The All Blacks have always been my favorite rugby team followed by South Africa. I enjoyed watching Richie McCaw, Jonah Lomu and Daniel Carter. Perhaps the most interesting was Sonny Bill Williams, who also was an outstanding boxer/fighter. Mils Muliaina was a name that stuck in my mind.
When I played on the over 30's team in Dallas, Naas Botha, from South Africa, played one year on our national champion side (younger best players). At the time, he was regarded as perhaps the best player in the world. He had come to Dallas to try out as a kicker for the Dallas Cowboys. What he could do on a rugby pitch was jaw dropping for us to watch.
