Gun Guys - Rifle scope question

I have a rimfire fixed 4x28 scope and am thinking about putting it on a Henry .44 Mag.

Why? I want the parallax between 50-100yds and rimfire scopes provide that.

Question. Will it hold up over time?

I started this thread because I had a guy tell me that it wouldn't handle the recoil. I have seen that take in gun forums too, but also folks who say it will be fine.

Figured someone here would have some experience.

If it was me, I'e check with the manufacturer. I bet they say no. If the scope is made specifically or rimfire, I'm sure it was cheaper, and .44 mag couldn't be much further from rimfire, as far as recoil goes.

Should be fine. I’ve got a 4 power tasco on a 30 30 with a couple thousand rounds thru it.
