Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

I'm giving you a "like" but see it differently. If it was mostly healthy, younger Dem voters/progressives that died, I'd be less inclined to be unhappy about it. My biggest problem is that so many elderly died without an option...
The ACTUAL problem is that there was so much murderous misinformation, and pressure...and the ppl applying that pressure nearly doubled their wealth by investing in a nearly mandated vaccine/masks/etc...
They should be found guilty of murder/treason without trial, and set on fire...all of them.

Your assumption is that the problem is the elite. I disagree. In all societies there are sociopaths who would like to become the elite. The difference between a good society and a bad society is only whether the population allows the sociopaths to take control. Modern society is bad because its population is hopelessly stupid, so rule by sociopaths is inevitable. But if some of the elite unintentionally raise the intelligence of the masses by killing off the most stupid, then I thank these elites. And if some innocent people die in the process, I don't care because the whole of society is at stake.

Will be interesting to see what happens to the ones within whose bods the self assembling nanotech has successfully integrated without actually killing, or severely retarding the host.
