Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

I was confused by that also but assumed something was lost in translation or they just refer to parties differently in Japan. Still unclear what his politics are. I do remember hearing about his economic policies back in the day.
I realize other countries define parties/idealogies differently than we do, but anytime I see "right-wing nationalist" I have to roll my eyes a bit... pretty much anyone right of Bernie Sanders is described that way on Wikipedia.
Yeah, Wikipedia is clearly biased in their politics.

Wow, clearest video i have seen yet. Seems like the first shot missed him. As he turned around to see what it was the second shot hit him in the chest.
You can see someone, presumably a secret service type, try and put a briefcase up to stop the shot but clearly did not stop it.
