So I asked this on the LAC thread, I’ll ask this here. How easy/difficult is it to go from sea level to elevation and be running and playing football? I literally have never been in any higher elevations to know but I do know that teams that play the Denver Broncos frequently travel a day early to acclimate. Thanks.Go Utes tonight.

It's hard. I live in KY and used to go to Wyo quite a bit. Walking up a hill would just gas me out there. This was probably 5600 to 7000 feet. It seems like you can tell a big difference once you get to 7000 ft. So it'll play a factor but if they plan for it.... I think they are saying 4600ft for the Utes??? I'd say 4th quarter could get interesting if they aren't rotating and getting oxygen regularly.

It depends on the elevation. When I was in high school, I played a basketball tournament up at Lake Tahoe. I felt great for the 1st quarter, and by the 2nd quarter, my legs were starting to shake a bit and the rest of the game was definitely a lesser version of the normal me.

It can make a pretty big difference IMO, especially in endurance sports. I wouldn't think it would be quite as important in sports like football, where you have more breaks in between plays. Unless you're playing against a fast paced, run & shoot sort of offense that is!
