Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

This set up changed my life. My daily is a G26 Gen3 with an optic. (I can’t get away from this pistol - I’ve tried to replace it three times - can’t get a better grouping with least effort with anything else - life on the line - this is my carry weapon).
I started carrying appendix with this rig and it’s extremely comfortable for all seasons and doesn’t mark. I’m under 6’ and 200 pounds. Athletic build so no bulging gut or hips.
I can carry with this + extra mag all day long and sometimes forget I’m wearing it. Good for long drives too. Secure fit for the weapon and nice draw too. Highly recommend.
This was exactly the 9th holster I tried over 10 or so years of having this pistol. On the 9th try I got it right. Hope this helps.

I got 3 guns in my truck sub compact mp3 shield 9mm, sub compact Taurus 9mm both holstered in an elite survival holster (nice, easy, light) and a canik full size 9mm to combat flat dark earth
Both my subcompacts are very easy carry but I don’t 90% of the time, I think I’m just lazy (most of the time I just forget), hope it don’t might me in the ass one day
Unfortunately I lost all 3 of these bad boys in a recent boating accident

Thankfully my department has a privately funding retirement. Other FDs, like any country FD, are on FRS (Florida Retirement System), which is essentially taxpayer funded. I would think that if something like that happened in Florida like what happened in Cali, those officials would need to be traveling everywhere with security details. To lose $332+ million in employee retirement funds deserves a rope and a tall oak tree branch.
