Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

While Trump has his hands full fighting every problem abroad, ending wars, deporting illegals, trying to make our inner cities safer, dealing with this government shutdown all while bringing back Justice by dismantling the Deep State, there is one problem that might be considered the worst of them all. After the transfers are made, the state can then request a matching amount of money from the federal government-
But Gavin Newsom's California abused this system by raising the price of a simple ambulance ride by nearly 300%-
Then once the local hospitals made the transfer to the state and the state received the matching funds from the federal government-
California then instead paid a private ambulance service which cost only a fraction of the original price, pocketing the difference.”
This is one of the most dishonest frauds against taxpayers ever created, Gavin Newsom stole billions with this fraud. Gavin Newsom reimbursement rates for public ambulance services by up to 500% (from $339 to $1,600 per ride in some approvals), prompting local governments or hospitals to transfer those inflated amounts to the state via IGTs.
The state then claims federal matching dollars—typically at a 50% rate—before reimbursing private ambulance providers at the original lower cost, effectively pocketing the surplus federal funds to offset state budget shortfalls

I'm amazed at the numbers of people who request ideas for and still go on vacations in these places as well as the UK, France, Germany and other countries.
We are getting to the point we need to let cops just shoot people again. We've gone too far the other way and now people feel emboldened to do anything they want to a cop during a traffic stop or even a buglary.
Sadly, the biggest problem is people in those cities voting in leaders who hire DEI police chiefs who instruct the policemen to stand down or risk losing their jobs. Until that changes little will happen. If a policeman goes against the grain and enforces the law they may get prosecuted or fired.
