Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

You read the comments in that ABC piece and it's obvious we have to have a civil war. GE used to have a huge industrial park here in Louisville. When they sold out to China they shrank it quite a bit. They basically just do enough to be able to say "American Made" on products that really built in China and just put together here. Lots of layoffs every year now as opposed to the old days too. They knock out a bunch of shit for 6 months then shut down for 3 months. China is asshoe.
Speaking of GE shrinkage, my father worked at GE in Schenectady when they had around 30K employees. Now just some R&D in the suburbs, and some token engineering. Large Motor Generators, huge turbine manufacturing, all gone I believe. At least the city is cleaner.

Those are the actual facts. And as usually is the case, we are likely the first outlet to report them. We look forward to eagerly covering the Pentagon, both on-site and from a distance, with the same fearlessness and courage and devotion to the truth that we have exhibited since we were created. And if the new guidelines result in fewer professional con artists and media hoaxers roaming the halls looking for new lies to peddle, so be it.
