Interesting re: Lottery/MegaMillions

Was at a convenience store client this morning. MegaMillions raised its price from $2 a ticket to $5 a ticket a couple of months ago. I asked the owner if lottery sales have fallen since this price increase. He said they absolutely have. More people are buying scratch off tickets than MegaMillions. He has a machine that people can buy lottery tickets from using a debit card. Before the price increase, they were getting around $20,000 in sales per month. Now only about $800 - $1000.

Doubtful if they reverse the price increase. Don't have to sell as many $5 tickets to reap the same volume as $2 tickets.

Appears like Ivy League schools have been found to be less on educating and more on indoctrinating. Most businesses don't want employees spewing nonsense. They want people who make them money.

I asked the recruiting lawyer (in the early 80's) at a top national law firm why they hired mostly Ivy League lawyers vs those graduating from state and local law schools. I was told they knew Ivy League lawyers were taught how to devote whatever time it took to find the obscure case which made the difference in prevailing or losing. I'm not so sure they would say the same thing nowadays. Seems like the Ivy's have ventured astray.
