Iran's been used by certain people to keep a sick game going for a long, long time now. They presented Iran as a REAL AND CLEAR AND PRESENT THREAT to the rest of us. It had to be, in order to justify the 'DEFENSE SPENDING' needed to 'contain' the threat.

He took them all at their WORD that Iran was a very real and present threat. Can they COMPLAIN about that? No, they can't.
When he moves to DESTROY the threat they've spent 50 FREAKING YEARS deploying for their Forever Conflicts sick game, can they complain? No, they can't.
When he 'utterly destroys and obliterates' the threat with bunker busters, can they wait a bit before running the same old script again? No, they can't.
When you take the people who cry 'wolf' when it suits them to drive their war profiteering at their word, and you convince the village **you just killed the wolf**...can they complain about you removing the 'threat'? No, they can't.
They're forced to SMILE, you see. They smile WIDELY and they CONGRATULATE YOU for at last removing that threat they struggled with for 50 years, while muttering under their breath.

Iran government moves to block major oil, gas route

Iran's parliament approved a measure June 22 endorsing the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a major oil transportation route, following U.S. airstrikes in Iran.
Around 20% of the world's oil and gas flow through the narrow channel connecting the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman. Its closure would likely mean rising fuel costs for global consumers, including Americans.
While Iranian state media reported that the parliament had agreed to endorse blocking the strait, the decision ultimately belongs to Iran's Supreme National Security Council.
Iranian officials have said the country would defend itself should the U.S. effectively join Israel's war with Iran. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine said in a press conference the U.S. is on "high alert" for retaliation from Tehran, after American bombers targeted three Iranian nuclear sites.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned against closing the strait, calling such a decision an escalation of conflict.
“That would be a suicidal move on their part, because I think the whole world would come against them if they did that,” Rubio said in an interview with CBS's Margaret Brennan.

My nephew's HS team lost in the state playoffs, in part, due to an umpire missing a call. After the game the ump admitted he missed the call. At the time they said they could not reverse the call even though it was a wrong call.
However, it was a great play by the opponent's 3rd baseman that saved the game for them.
