I hope the word has been passed to Iran's leaders that any, repeat any, disruption in the Persian Gulf will make Tehran, the nuke research facilities, all military bases, Karg Island and perhaps all of Iran glass. The same for any attack within the US.

The DC Fed controls all 12 branches from DC. When DC is conjuring up some new regulation, they send the proposed reg out to the 12 branches for comment. If a branch supports the regulation DC is proposing their comments are taken into consideration. If a branch opposes the reg, their comments are rejected and the original proposed regulation is imposed as if all 12 branches agreed with it. What DC thinks gets imposed whether good or bad for the country.
