Here's a suggestion. If they are in the attic or crawl space, put a strobe light in it and set it to flash every 2-3 seconds. They will be gone in 24 hours. Works on squirrels, opossums and raccoons. Leave it running for a week after you last heard them. Then patch their entry holes. Do not patch the holes before they are gone.
