• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Lazy today, what was the outcome of the players suing the university? TIA.
GROK said:

Yes, the Duke Lacrosse players did sue Duke University. After the charges against them were dropped, players David Evans, Collin Finnerty, and Reade Seligmann, along with other members of the team, filed civil lawsuits against Duke University. Duke University eventually settled with the three indicted players in 2007, reportedly paying each of them around $20 million. Additionally, in 2013, Duke settled another lawsuit with 38 members of the 2005-06 men's lacrosse team, although the terms of that settlement were not disclosed.

This is absolute bullshit. The turning over of radios and radars doesn't happen.....Still wish I knew what was happening, but that aint it.

I have a hypothesis that the majority of the drones are amateur, yet sophisticated, drone owners. They are flying more now trying to hunt and get up close video of the supposed unknown drones. As more participate in drone on drone hunting, the sightings increase. Its like PokemanGo where people start to cause traffic jams to get to a city Pokeman drop spot.
