• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

They made him out to be cult-like in his belief in God, Trump, Constitution and the fraudulent election ("which of course it wasn't" the reporter interjected). I'm still convinced he's a plant by the left but he does a good job sounding like he cares about Trump/USA...for an out of work actor, he's pretty good at it.

They asked if he regretted anything and he said he regrets "entering that building with every fiber of my being"; he also said he was disappointed he didn't get pardoned by Trump.

They then said do you regret your support for Trump and he said, "No, I only regret entering that building." What I don't quite get is, if he is an actor, why not go ahead and say he regretted supporting Trump? That would be the thing to say in order to further their narrative of disillusioned QAnon cultists. Just struck me odd... Maybe that's the picture they're painting, that even in jail and abandoned, these cultists still support that Bad Orange Man.

Much appreciated and great take!

As far as the underlined all I can say is:

Mentioned this a while back and maybe my BIL is totally wrong - but he has a real good BS meter. BIL was around him quite a few times in Arizona and never once thought he wasn't being authentic. Quiet guy apparently.

A few of you know I own a CBD Shop inside a Yoga Studio. Anyhow, I just wrapped up an hour long conversation with one of the Yoga instructors that ended with her taking the red pill and requesting I get her set up with the Recall Mayor Adler petition here in town. That's all we can do, collectively, to get this country back on track. Each one of us. Everyday. One pill at a time. Pretty soon we'll be like McDonald's: over 1 million red pills served.

I'd like Cliffs on how that conversation went. Assuming the Yoga instructor is a crunchy lib. What was the red pill you served? Her reactions?

Man, I'm sorry to hear that. Mine never drank a drop and was one of the kindest Southern Baptists you ever met.

Political correctness is for sissies.

That is what one would expect him to say about today's events.

Problem is he saw communism/DS bs up close and personal on multiple continents, and knew we were going to get our shot at it soon enough.

Yes, she is definitely left leaning based on past conversations I have had with her. She came in talking to me about the tent cities that are popping up all over town and how she doesn't feel safe. I was able to shine a light on the steps we have taken as a city to get us to this undesirable point(mayor's office, progressive city council, etc) and how people fleeing places like California and New York for some reason still tend to vote for the failed policies they were fleeing to begin with. It resonated with her and she saw the light.

I even got a closing shot in stating that our country is now getting these failed policies enacted at the federal level by our new inept administration.. Her mouth dropped open and she nodded in agreement.

I've been on a roll around town the past several days. ZFG anymore.

So help me out. I thought I understood this correctly the stimulus bill that was passed by the Senate based on that shit bird vice president making the tie-breaking vote. Can that pass with 51 votes or does it have to have 60. Or are we talking about two totally different things

did the horseshit stimulus bill get approved today by the vice president‘s tie-breaking vote

I would appreciate if anyone could help me with that. For some reason I thought it took 60 votes maybe I’m confused because I’m reading it got approved.

On a different note it’s horrible on it the vice president has to make a tie-breaking vote in the Senate. I have rarely seen it in my lifetime and it just goes to show how far our country has fallen and how divided we are

The vice president casting votes is a very modern phenomenon. Constitutionally speaking nobody is sure if it were ever really intended to happen as liberally as it does currently.

Reconciliation (50-50 tie with heels splitting the diff) is difficult to explain but it only allows for very narrow things. Here:

They can't pass just anything they want. The HR1 for voting and the gun legislation fall outside of reconciliation and thus won't happen. Even the wage increase is outside of the scope of reconciliation and that is very close to spending.

There a rules; thank goodness for The Constitution and the Founding Fathers.

So quick answer did the bill pass or does it need 60 votes. The stimulus bill. Thank you
I see there’s 20 hours of debate and then another vote after that. Do they have to have 60 votes to pass the stimulus bill

Today they voted 50-50 in the Senate and the vice president made it 51 to 50. My question to anyone on this board is in order for this bill to pass can they pass with 51 votes or do they need 60 votes? They’re supposed to debate and then vote again on Saturday does it take 51 or 60 votes to pass the stimulus bill. Thank you very much

Front page stuff says 51 for ordinary legislation. As @America 1st said i do not believe this would qualify as that but wtf knows anymore. Im with you in the weeds now.

The amount of non-Covid stuff in this is maddening. You can debate whether stimulus is needed. Simply allowing people to open on a non-restricted basis should do the trick.

However, no taxpayer should believe they are coming out ahead in this deal. Those that do probably also believe they make money when they shop at Rakuten.

The stim bill will pass via reconciliation since it's generally just a spending bill.

The can spend their lives away in reconciliation (call them stim bills or whatever) but sweeping changes to current law aren't generally allowed.

The United States Government is a debtor. A debtor owes less when the printing machine is running full steam ahead, which is why they'll just keep on printing until the dollar is absolutely worthless. This is what's pushing people away from fiat and to cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

But but but...morning hoe and Joe tell me this bill is wildly supported by the American people. In fact he said, it's the most popular piece of legislation in over 100 years. 76% of American approve. 🤣

That’s what I’m hoping. If they pass this horseshit bill we are in trouble

Or I should say more trouble than we’re already in
They will do whatever they want to do, then in a couple years the republicans will use the same process to change it.
