I'm way behind but the only way we have to talk to these people. Aside from a miracle, convincing them to join our side is the only solution without massive downsides.

I have to agree with others that the IE and the movie is still a part of the biggest red pill in human history.

Even the IE is still talking about 47 every day trying to declare an end to America 1st policy. They are scarred BIGLY.

The better arguments are why it should have been covered in your bid and why does the GC have so much time included? Unless the owner is making changes after the fact, In which case charge whatever you can and leave me alone next time there is some minor change.

I’ve got this one project where the electrician is the general contractor. There was a $50k utility allowance which Ended up not being used. Their PM just can’t help himself, he wants that money in his contract. Every time anything comes up he cries change order. So far his change orders have turned into him losing about 10% of his contract value. I work with this company all the time and wouldn’t have called them on most of this stuff, but he keeps bringing up change orders that I then have to show why it’s a deduct. None of this involved any comments on material costs or labor hours. It was all quantities and linear feet. You know they are reaching when they say “well I didn’t bid it that way.” Sorry, the plans show what they show.

usually it’s just best to include qualifications that get you competent contractors then just work together to find the best solution when issues arise. And if you are a sub, don’t bid on something you don’t understand fully.

This isn’t really how we do it at all.

We bid a job and our bid is based on the drawings and specs. If the drawings and specs don’t change at all during construction, then there are no change orders. If the drawings or specs change, we have to submit a change order. Usually the COs increase contract value, but sometimes they decrease value because something was eliminated. When I submit a CO, I include invoices from suppliers, rental companies, etc to validate my materials/supplies/equipment costs. Labor is done on an hourly basis. The only place for the GC to negotiate is time to complete.

The other type of CO is when we get asked to do someone else’s work, but I still submit all supporting documentation.

There is a 3rd type I suppose, and that’s when the GC is demanding we work when conditions don’t support it. I will CO the shit out of them for that all day, mainly because they are being stupid.
 
Man a lot of y’all are a lot more optimistic than I am. What I’m seeing is Biden pretty much erase a shitload of the great policies Trump enacted during his presidency. But diaper Joe has the media protecting him, so the downfall of the country won’t happen fast enough for the average person to realize.

How long would it take for the Chinamen to completely infiltrate our intelligence community? With ole shit diaper as potus, we’re about to see China make its most aggressive and assertive moves up to this point in modern history. Because they control the diaper and decide when he gets a new one and when he doesn’t.

Besides the usual stocking up on 2A and long term food and water, I recommend people put at least SOME cash towards digital assets and crypto’s. There’s a very real chance China will try and crash the US dollar. They know it’s now or never, and they are making their move.

Aight that’s a little dramatic, but I really do think we are about to see China assert itself in ways we have never seen and didn’t think we’d see in our lives.
