B&B is a great after dinner drink. An aperitif. I always have a bottle on hand.

I prefer it in the rocks. Just sip after dinner. Like a port, it is also great with a cigar. In case Husband likes those.

B&B is sweet, like a port.

Cognac is not sweet. Cognac is a high end brandy. It is more like sipping a high end Bourbon or Scotch. Cognac is Typically consumed straight in a Brandy snifter. You hold the bowl with your hand so that you warm the Cognac and release the aroma. Sniff deep and sip lightly.

My preferred Cognac is

Courvoisier XO

I have no idea how old my bottle is. The cork was dry enough that I had to get a wine key and carefully ease it out...in pieces.

Like you said, I think it would be better rx. I just took a small shot. I didn't hate it, but it's not something I would normally imbibe. But I can see how it would be good with a good cigar (and yes, he loves cigars and I normally take a puff or 3)

They haven’t had a cork for years. You need to enjoy that hidden jewel of the liquor cabinet. On ice.

The rest of the cork is in pieces. These are the times I thank my bartending days. Managed to save the bottle...bit by bit. There's now an upside down wine cork shoved in the neck.

Seriously, I asked my husband if he knew where it came from. It was given to his dad at some party (no idea when) and my mother in law threw it in to the 'keeping' box when we were cleaning out their house so she could sell a few years after his passing.

My husband laughed his ass off that I finally opened the bottle.

I'll have to pour another drink and toast his dad (great man). ❤

On ice!

Seal up that bottle with a vacuum wine cork. You got a jewel.
