Who gets to decide the definition of "danger"?
"The legislation would allow a judge to issue an extreme risk protection order after a court considers evidence in support of the request. Once an order is issued, law enforcement could take temporary possession of an individual’s firearms, and ban them from purchasing new firearms while the order remains in effect."

With the judges seen of late, I'm convinced this would be abused politically. Could have been used against the entrapped Michigan "kidnappers" we now know were set-up by the FBI. "Let's use this law to grab the guns of anyone we deem a "danger" in the early stages of any incident real or contrived. When the facts come out a year or so later, we still have the guns. And haven't removed your name from a litany of databases controlling your life."

Was just reading an article on this & they claim per a military spokesperson that the numbers in 2021 were accurate however the numbers prior to 2021 we inaccurate and that created the perception of large increases. Oh, and they took the system offline to correct it.

I smell tom foolery, horseshit, & shenanigans.

"Officials compared numbers in the DMED with source data in the DMSS and found that the total number of medical diagnoses from those years "represented only a small fraction of actual medical diagnoses." The 2021 numbers, however, were up-to-date, giving the "appearance of significant increased occurrence of all medical diagnoses in 2021 because of the underreported data for 2016-2020," Graves said.

The DMED system has been taken offline to "identify and correct the root-cause of the data corruption," Graves said."

Not only that, I could also see that this could cause (mostly) conservative minded people to potentially not want to speak up against a political figure/opponent, at a school board or local government meeting, etc. for fear that they could be labeled a "danger" by someone and poof, guns gone simply for voicing their opinion.

100% chance it will be abused.

Several months ago, early-mid 2021 IIRC, a navy DR was on video talking about how myorcarditis cases had exploded, and that it was nuts for any restrictions or mandates given that fewer than 20 people in the whole of the military had died from covid in 2020.

Exactly. An acquaintance of mine found himself on the no-fly list because some airport workers got upset with him. He had flown into a small airport, the airport staff was taking a break and refused to retrieve their baggage, so him and another guy pushed a cart down and did it themselves. Next time he tried to fly, he found out he was banned.

Fortunately for him, he had done some work for a few congressmen and they were able to get him off the list, but there's nowhere in the constitution that it says my rights are at the whims of some bureaucrat, or judge.

So did he buy it or was it still comped?

Here is an interesting interview with him re: his sneaker strategy. He essentially said that the sneaker wars were unfair to the consumer and took his brand to Walmart to develop a $20 shoe that kids wouldn't be embarrassed to wear.

He and his family were still comped all the goods.

One note about your video. He made a smart move doing this. During that time and it still may true today, big men don’t sell shoes.
Kids want to be wings and handle the ball. Very few want to play their backs to the hoop. We had The Admiral at the time as well. Could move the needle in shoe sales.
Shaq made his product available to everyone. Price was not a factor and helped tremendously.

🤣😂 so once again, that silly 200 plus year old piece of parchment that states Government Shall NOT Infringe means nothing to legislators and other tyrants.

Quick story about Shaq's family that might lend some perspective as to where he came from and how he grew up.

I worked for Nike in the 90's. Many remember this was the height of the sneaker wars. I was on campus for work the same week that he was in town getting pitched by us for endorsements.
I happened to be in our employee store at the same time as his family and friends were there "shopping". As they probably still do and did then, they would allow the VIP to go to the store to shop and everything would be comped.
What I saw was amazing. His entourage would literally go up to a rounder or four-way rack and take everything off the rack and throw it into a cart. They would get multiple carts at a time and go to check out. It took 2 registers about 1 hour to ring up all the merchandise.
I asked the staffers when they had left, had they seen anything like that before. To a person, none had. The total was well over $100K(wholesale) worth of merchandise.
That's a bad thing, right?

Couple days behind, but I'm feeling a little frisky on a Friday afternoon so wanted to bump this back up to remind everyone who the king of ping is. This team is loaded this season. Can't wait. Shriner's Classic in a few weeks at Minute Maid is going to be a badass weekend. UCLA. Baylor. Land Thief. LSU. Tennessee. Texas. What a great lineup that promises some fantastic matchups.
