As stated above 10-20% is the range of pregnancies that miscarry so their 15% seems acceptable. The issue is they counted the 32 still births against the 270 total pregnancies, 32 is 15.5% of that 270 total. The issue is when they say they dont know what happened to 238 of the pregnancies yet they count their 32 misccariages against the whole. The headline while misleading is based on the fact that of the 32 outcomes known they were all miscarriages. 32 of 32 is 100%. What was the outcome of the other 238?

I’m sure it was a voluntary study so the participants may have decided not to respond. If they had the child, I can understand not having the time or making it a priority to respond, newborns take your entire day and night and the last thing they may want to do is reply to these study requests.
I’ve done a few studies like these for various things and after work and everything else going on the last thing I wanted to do was reply to a bunch of questions asking for tons of detail.
They could have had negative outcomes (I.e. having a miscarriage) and felt trauma from it and didn’t want to respond because it is recreating that trauma. Miscarriages suck.
Lots of details are still unknown but it’s a start.
