• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

You think by anyone who ever had ties to government is inherently against freedom?

You are jumping the shark
The guru is unraveling...yikes

You're the Japanese soldier fighting in the jungle years after the end.

Inherently against freedom? Lulz

How bout a 90% chance being a total hack job based on her past and current role running the esteemed Virginia Department of Division, Inclusion and Equity.....excuse me, "Opportunity"

It is.

Destruction and dismantling of the nuclear family has always been a goal for communism.

It's literally a law in our state that parents have the right:

380.1137 Powers of parents and legal guardians; policies or guidelines.

Sec. 1137.

(1) In recognition of the rights of parents and legal guardians, the board of a school district, public school academy, university school, or intermediate school district shall ensure that a parent or legal guardian responsible for the care and custody of a pupil enrolled in the school district, public school academy, university school, or intermediate school district may do all of the following:
(a) Review the curriculum, textbooks, and teaching materials of the school in which the pupil is enrolled at a reasonable time and place and in a reasonable manner.
(b) Be present, to a reasonable degree, and at reasonable times and subject to reasonable restrictions, controls, and limits, to observe instructional activity in a class or course in which the pupil is enrolled and present. As used in this subdivision, "instructional activity" does not include testing.
(2) The board of a school district, public school academy, university school, or intermediate school district may adopt reasonable policies or guidelines under this section. Those policies or guidelines shall not unreasonably prevent the exercise of the rights set forth in subsection (1) and shall not create an unreasonable obstacle to teaching or learning, or to administering or maintaining proper discipline, in a school or school program. If a board adopts policies or guidelines under this subsection, the board shall make the policies or guidelines available to the public.

SB 866 would allow a child 12 or older to consent to any vaccine approved by the FDA and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That list includes the COVID-19 vaccine made by Pfizer, as well as immunizations for influenza, measles, chickenpox and others.

“This is about empowering teenagers to make decisions on their own health and their own safety,” Wiener said. “Almost a million California teenagers are unvaccinated, and for a lot of those teens it’s because their parents either refuse to get them vaccinated or they have not yet gotten around to it.”

So.... Has anyone here besides me never gotten Covid because you refused to be tested?

I have gotten Covid twice almost exactly a year apart and never tested. Getting tested is one of the dumbest things. Had the exact same symptoms for 24-36 hrs each time. With the original I lost my taste and smell about 4 or 5 after the 36 hrs. With the Omni exact same symptoms but less severe and no loss of taste or smell. I don’t need a test to let me know I don’t feel well just like we’ve done for forever. This notion to test for everything is absurd. Who cares if it’s Covid or the flue or a cold. Maybe that’s just me because I’m on my mid thirties and healthy.

Doctor told us when we had the flu a few weeks ago …”wouldn’t matter if it was cold, flu, or Covid…we would treat you the same way. Tylenol, NyQuil, rest, and fluids. “

I've been sick twice in the last 2 years. Once in Jan 2020 before there were any tests and again just after Thanksgiving this year. I didn't get tested this last time. My gf got sick just after New Year and had to get tested for work. She came back positive, I never developed any symptoms.

I've only been to the doctors once in the last 30 years (broken leg). People say I'm nuts but I don't trust them.
