• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Re: OK trooper. Interesting that nobody was said to stop and help the trooper. Rather, "they sped by" except the person who grabbed his phone to take a picture versus assisting the trooper. Hell of a mess we are in where grabbing a phone to take photos is the priority over helping LEOs and fellow citizens.

When Michigan State mandated vaccines, our initial reaction was to have our son transfer to Ohio State (where his sister went) or Hillsdale. He was crushed having to make a decision to leave. Thankfully, we were able to get a religious exemption. I would send a kid to Hillsdale in a heart beat.
Crazy how different life can be from state to state in this country. In Iowa, our governor has been adamantly against mandates and this trickles down to the various state agencies and regent universities.

My 3 sons and I were watching a college basketball game last night and we talked about Covid requirements to get into games. Used the example of the Illinois HHS requiring people to show proof of vaccination or a negative test in order to enter sporting events, restaurants, etc. I complained about it and my 12-year old says, Dad why don't you take Covid seriously. I said, if it was about safety and those in power being genuinely concerned about our health, then why allow sporting events like this to occur? Why not lock us all up again until Covid goes away? I explained this isn't about safety anymore, it is about following your political side's leaders and control...and whether or not there is money to be gained or lost.

Kids are so easily bamboozled.

If only they had the foresight to see a global pandemic that would force them to get a jab. Are you fucking kidding me? You have to be trolling at this point, or you are a message board provocateur.

Either way, I'm done with you and your ridiculous hot takes. You are consistently wrong and you don't deserve to post in this thread. After 20+ years on rivals and here you are the first person I have blocked. Congrats.
@America 1st and @Rube Reaper are the same bot.

not deadly immediately, but the ash would black out enough sun to kill most of the crops on earth, thus starving us all to death
