Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

I have been on 7 cruises since they started again as they are something I very much enjoy. I have 20 more booked and will be taking two more within the next two weeks.
That article is pure propaganda. Divide 55 by 6,000 (the approximate number of passengers and crew on Odyssey of the Seas which was one of my 7 cruises) and you get .00916%. So .00916% people had the Flu or covid if that's what you want to call it.
A few people coughed and I think I heard two sneezes. I respect anyone who refuses to get the vaccine and I think it's worthless, but I choose to travel so I took it. If and when it's forced on us that would change everything.
Now is the best time to cruise since the ships are much less crowded and I don't care where we go. The ship is the destination to me. I can drive to 5 different ports in Florida.

Merry Christmas everyone! Received an email yesterday that my kid’s Manhattan high school is going to test everyone upon return “for free.” They are 80% vaxxed. My kid is not. I expect a lot of kids to test hot, which will force unvaxxed close contacts to have to quarantine for 10 days. Keeping my kid home on the first day back to let all the vaxxed kids test out and go home. Skol!
