Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

I’m hedging with crypto and real estate but would like to learn and understand more about this. I agree with you that this market is about to take a big ole dump and I’d like to be as prepared as possible.
Edit: actually have another hedge now. I just cleared out a storage unit that was filled with baseball cards and other memorabilia. I’ve started to unpack and price it and holy shit, the sports card industry has gone as parabolic as crypto. Starting the process of getting cards graded and prepared for sale. If anyone ITT has done this, please chime in with advice. I have a lot of stuff.

Thoughts on Supreme Court hearing the cases? I just got covid Monday and got the monoclonal antibodies. It says not to get vaccine for at least 90days. Well guess what, I need to tell my company by Feb 1 if i plan on getting vaccine..so they can find my replacement by april1. They’ve been very careful with sr management reaching out. I’ve literally made them enough money to pay for their houses and kids private schools. It’s all HR and my attorneys at this point- sadly. What a waste. All the people below me, relied on me and now will get some college grad who will lose money. I honestly feel worse for their families than mine.

This is correct. When they float out percentages like 73% of cases are Omicron, I laugh because I know there’s no way they actually know that.
I’ve been involved with testing on both the lab and now sales side for over 15 years. We do have targeted RTPCR variant detection kits, to include Omicron. But, none of the labs I work with are using them. Really no need, doesn’t effect treatment regimen.
