Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

This school shooting is all over the news. I looked up some Detroit crime stats just for reference.
Detroit saw 327 homicides in 2020, a 19% increase from the 275 that occurred in 2019, and 1,173 nonfatal shootings, a 53% increase from a year earlier, Detroit Police Chief James Craig announced Wednesday at a Detroit Police Department news conference recapping 2020.
Gun-related arrests surged in the city, at 5,904 offenders in 2020. That’s 200% more than in 2018 and 102% more than in 2019.

Drove from Austin to Las Vegas to see Grateful Dead and Traffic in 1994. Probably heard Black Hole Sun 975 times on the radio throughout that trip. I’ve tried to never listen to it again since then. Actions speak louder than words!
I went to an outside Christmas tree lighting in my neighborhood last night. I saw my next-door neighbors and their 11-year-old granddaughter.
The granddaughter was running, playing, and laughing while playing with another little girl. The grandmother said we are so glad that we got her vaccinated so she can finally go outside and be with her best friends.
I was stunned but not speechless but held my tongue and remembered a picture the grandmother posted before the election of herself, her daughter, and this granddaughter. They all were wearing Biden tee-shirts saying 3 generations for Biden.
I would have been wasting my time saying anything.
