• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

No, the NFL didn't mandate it, but they set different protocols for people that had the jab, versus those that didn't. For example, if you're jabbed, and are around someone that tested positive, no worries. However, if not jabbed and around someone, you have to quarantine and test multiple times. Similar deal if you test positive. If you had the jab, you just have to test negative twice to come back. If you didn't get the jab, mandatory 10 day quarantine.

Apparently, he told the media he was immunized, not vaxxed. He went to some sort of natural doctor and had a treatment to increase his immunity or something like that.

We have a shop that could bring in money if we have a surge of users as well.

Without a doubt the number one thing that will help us everywhere is growing our user base.

In the end, I’m not trying to ask for donations here. I’m really looking for ideas. Ideas to grow, ideas to monetize, anything. If we have to cut off IT support at the end of the year, so be it, and a few of us will do our best, but it puts us in a precarious position.

Here’s what I decided to do for now: I changed the donation goal back to $1000/month. I think the larger, long term donation goal was a little confusing (but we did get some donations that were extremely helpful)

If we can hit that goal each month, and with the patron support (which we really appreciate) that gives us $1500 a month.

That will cover the server location, utilities, internet, and software we need to support everything, and also leave $500 I can use to pay for part time IT support and maintenance.

As I said before, we are working some things to sustain us so we don’t need to ask for donations, but in the meantime, we need some help each month.

Been out of touch since the summer. I’m still feeding my fam well but I got recruited to lead a new next-gen fuel team and have been absolutely swamped with work since June.

That being said….last night gives me hope that the country truly hasn’t gone full retard.

You guys are making a big deal about a minuscule amount of tromethamine used as a buffer. Tromethamine in high doses is used to treat metabolic acidosis, not really now but in the old days. There are other drugs that use it as part of their liquid formulation such as ketorolac. It’s not used to prevent cardiovascular complications from the vaccine. It accepts hydrogen ions to neutralize a metabolic acidosis. So if you want a certain ph of a formulation so the ingredients don’t precipitate out or the lipid bilayer the mRNA is packaged in needs to be maintained at a certain pH to make it stable that’s why it is in there. There are other real reasons why kids shouldn’t be vaccinated but this is not one of them.
