• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

To put it as simply as I understand, her upper and lower chambers are not beating in synch as they should. Her lower chamber is beating multiple times while the upper chamber skips. Everybody has this occasionally, but this is extreme. The cardiologist told her that if she was an 86 year old man who had smoked and drank all his life, he wouldn't be worried. As she's 22 and in perfect health otherwise (and until recently) he's, ahem, concerned.

In addition, her heartbeat is very slow. Ordinarily, that wouldn't concern me as she always has (both my dad and I have 'slow' heartbeats) but it's even slower than normal. She has to be careful when standing up so she doesn't pass out.

Her next appointment is in a couple of weeks. He'll determine if he's going to put her on beta blockers to try to regulate her heart or if she needs to go in a different direction.

This has been going on since April.
When did she get the shot?

I haven't heard of concrete shortages yet but shit is tight on rebar and small steel like beams. Why roll small steel when you can ship big heavy steel and get more per pound?
Dad spent almost $2000 grand on rebar for his shop and he said it was only about $600 for a similar size building he built a few years ago. He thought they sold him too much at first and the guy was like "nope. Its just gotten that bad".

Shit is getting ready to get crazy. Its weird because I always thought we'd see a crash with the way were spending but it kept kinda working out. the way dominos are falling now I fear that wild west type shit is going to start breaking out everywhere. Prices are just so insane on so many things and as soon as it gets cold and people can't afford propane, nat gas, food or even find certain foods on shelves...

Beef going up again for instance. A ribeye is going to be special occasion fare pretty soon.

Ribeyes have tripled in cost from a year ago in my neck of the woods and we have 2 beef processors in town.
