Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

I suppose there is one good thing about this---if there is a good thing---is they will know where to find them.
What would keep the locals from stopping everyone as they exit the buses and photographing them and recording their names or any IDs they may have? At least the locals would have some data on those the Feds are not identifying at the border.

Interesting neighbor...
My truck driver neighbor is anal about yard work. He mows, edges, etc., 2-3 times a week. He even mows the street to chop up leaves and stuff. Since moving in, if he sees a lawn which hasn't been mowed in what he feels is enough time, he takes his mower and mows their yards. One person told him to stay off his lawn.
He called yesterday wanting to know if I was OK (recovering from surgery) since I hadn't mowed and edged in 1-2 weeks (the grass hasn't grown much with little rain and watering). I am fine but haven't felt the need to mow or edge. I will today or tomorrow.
Anyway, he's out again today and just edged my lawn and blew off all the sidewalks. I don't care other than I like doing my own yard work but am not nearly as anal as he is.

Agreed with the lumping of anyone into a single group. I think the issue with Dr's is complex. For one, most of the small practices (including several good friends of mine) have been bought out by larger groups, and are giving them marching orders in terms of how they are to handle certain things. Other Dr's (and people in general) are swayed too strongly by politics. One of my Dr. friends has such a strong hatred of Trump that at the first mention of HCQ or Ivermectin, he wrote them off forever as being a realistic option. It's unfortunate that we can't truly look at the science of all of the options, including J&J, Pfizer, Moderna, etc, and see what's real. Not the media portrayal of it, but the actual facts.
