• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

No. No they won’t. Texas has had everything handed to them on a silver platter since the big 12 started and they haven’t done shit with those gifts. Things are not going to get better once they move to the SEC and are treated as an equal to the rest of the league
The university thinks they are Cal Berkeley and that’s exactly what their program has turned into because football is not a priority.

Texas football is the average looking chick who's parents are loaded and has had never had to work for anything. Basically, if you could buy UT football for what it's worth and sell it for what they think they are worth, you may surpass Jeff Bezos in wealth.

Sorry Mortgage Horn. No offense intended.

For govt contractors it is going to come down to the supply chain. There are a lot of small mom and pops that supply to large defense companies. The govt already knows it is hard enough to get these companies to do business with the govt in the first place and now they are shooting themselves in the foot by placing a vax burden on them.

The govt wants to do business with small business and this is going to drive them away.
Might have already been stated cuz I'm so far behind - it only applies to companies 100 employees or greater.

Tough day for Texas yesterday.

Incredible courage exhibited by the GOP

Can you imagine the ground we can cover with Speaker McCarthy, Leader McConnel and confident leadership from Nikki Haley, Linday Graham, Mitt Romney, Adam Kinzinger, Prez Bush and basically any elected official in this party of freedom fighters??

Tremendous!!
There are some democrats I would vote for over that crew.

I cannot tell you how fantastic it was to be back to some form of normalcy and be in a stadium with 93,000 fans.
Only one national anthem.
Great day in Athens Georgia

I'm a few pages behind...but I was there in 2009. Last time UK won at UGA. I may have to make a return trip with the East on the line. I was told by one of the locals "I'd take that hat off on my way to the car if I were you". :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Hes a health care professional that it's pro vaccine and extremely anti vaccine mandate.

He articulates extremely well how they lost all credibility by making it look like the vaccine is ineffective.

I thought he'd get a lot more traction here given his libertarian stance.

He also says boosters aren't necessary and likely are from pharma wanting to churn more profit. Also, herd immunity is working as delta has already peaked and on it's way down...
He has an echo chamber and brings in guests that already support his view. Has discussions about ivermectin that we need more trial data, despite a large number of successful limited trials and an entire country that benefited from widespread distribution. But then doesn’t call out that the mRNA vaccines (which obviously don’t work given the terrible results in Israel) have zero long term data to understand their long term health impact. I stopped watching so if he’s recently brought in some contrarians, I’d listen again, even though he comes across as an overconfident douche.

@cash crop are you from the old board and what state you from?
Yes, I’m a holdover from the old LAC/My Pony/Fraqqle threads. More of a lurker and dispenser of “likes” than a poster. I let you all who are wiser than me post, and I appreciate reading all the knowledge and varying viewpoints brought here. I’m from Nebraska.
As an aside, yesterday (the 9/11 20th anniversary) I flew from Omaha to Charleston SC by way of DFW, and felt honored to give a big fat middle finger to the forces of evil in this world that tried to disrupt the lives of freedom loving folks.

Sark did not appreciate the power of a rivalry. Hogs were high on hatred. Texas did not respect that motivation. First series success was like gas on a fire. OL and DL got whipped progressively. Biggest series was the one after BJ intercepted the pass that led to the TD. Had the D not let Arky answer back Texas would have made them doubt themselves. That game was more about emotion than talent.

So there is another chapter to all of this that I just remembered but do not recall the details. Apparently a few members of Bin Ladin's family were in Orlando on or right after 9/11 and they were very quietly flown out of the country on a private jet or charter. I know I heard about this but don't remember exactly what were the details. Anyone know?

You want a manipulation scheme? The US dollar.
Most things in life, especially those that involve humans, have a negative quality or two.

Sometimes things that aren’t perfect do exceptional things. Facilitating the rise of the wealthiest and most prosperous nation in human history is a pretty good start though for The Founders and their dollar.

The best part is we can reform it, and the system, and make it even better and less susceptible to human error if we want. Hell we could get rid of the Fed all together.

Like the old saying goes; don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.
