Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

I certainly believe that this mandate is 100% unconstitutional and that the courts will eventually overturn it. But that’s gonna take a while. I I have coached middle school basketball in our school district for several years. I really enjoy it and as recently as yesterday I was in the gym with some of our returning eighth graders working out and getting ready for the season. I am reasonably certain that the school district is going to mandate vaccinations for all employees. This will include coaches like myself. I unfortunately fear that I have coached my last game. Because I am not getting the jab. It’s a shame because the kids have gotten a lot better under my tutelage so to speak and they all really enjoy playing for me. I’m going to miss them as well.

Happened to our high schooler. In fact, they started the semester on a Friday without masks, then on Sunday night the School Board decided to institute masks again for that Monday.
