This makes a lot of sense, and it goes along with the whole narrative of, "if you control the media, you control the population". It makes sense especially when you consider places like California, where the liberal doctrine is so widely spread that you're almost required to accept it, or be somewhat ostracized. I have several friends out there and they're definitely been infected by that type of thinking.
As he said in the video, that's why it's so important for people (ourselves included) to speak out against the nonsense, no matter what it is. It makes it okay for others who may fall into the "potentially brainwashed" category to break free, or not become fully overtaken by the cultural push.
