• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

You had multiple kids get Covid? Were they serious cases, or were you just being proactive?

I've known quite a few people out here in the Vegas area get Covid, but none of them have had any more than a sniffle.

One time in Afghanistan, my platoon was taking it from all sides on top of a hill. This went on for roughly 8 hours. We damn near went black on ammo twice. Anywho, after 8 hrs of taking it in the arse, CAS finally comes on station. I’m calling it in and receive an A10 Wharthog…finally! The pilot was female, and let me say….she sounded so hot. Pretty sure I got a hard on in the middle of a firefight. Needless to say, the hot sounding female A10 pilot zipped a few times and that was the end of the fight. To the sexy voiced pilot wherever you are…I love you. Good times!

edit: this particular fight was featured on a NATGEO documentary; Eyewitness War. The episode is called Behind Enemy Lines. Look it up if you have time. You hear my voice several times, and see me but my face is blurred out. Attached are a couple photos taken of me while calling in for CAS.

So what can we do about these situations? Do we need to somehow lobby against the teachers unions? Get seats on the school board? How do we as a group fix this ridiculousness?
 
Whelp. I finally confirmed to my family i am Irish. They all know where I'm at. During lockdown I wore a mask once to go to mass w my Parents. I do what my Mom says. (Like a good son) but especially after my place burned up and I got the spilt in my skull fixed. Now I am Rebarcock. Again. Thank all yall for your love and prayers. Glad you are doing so well. My old man is in the same boat. He knows it’s all BS but can’t turn Fox News off. He had to rush off the phone the other day to listen to mush mouth address the Afghan BS to the districts. I laughed and he got pissed. He hates Biden but can’t turn away from the train wreck. Haha SKOL!

Just another psa for anyone with parents 70+...my mom had the WuFlu two weeks ago. She was fighting it for 4-5 days before tested, then got pretty run down. Got her the ivermectin and the vitamin program and she was fine in 2 days.

Just reinforcing other stories here that this stuff works...stay close to family and keep some on hand to catch it early. Prayers to @tgsio and any others who may be going thru it now.

In the end we are judged by results. However, some do take on the impossible, whatever the odds. I would hate to suppress that bold spirit by constantly ridiculing someone who dared.

Dad is feeling better. Hopes to test negative Friday or Saturday and be freed from isolation.
