• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Here is:Another way Democrats stay in power:

Omar Navarro:“I ran against Congresswoman Maxine Waters in the 2016 election, the 2018 election, and the 2020 election. In 2018, Maxine Waters asked the Department of Justice to investigate me — to look into me.”“

Six years after the matter, the FBI and the Department of Justice came after me and indicted me for taking a stand and fighting against the radical left in the state of California.”

The FBI raided his mother’s home — located in a retirement community — with a team of 20 armed agents.

They also targeted his campaign staffer who earned barely $10,000 a year.

Meanwhile, Maxine Waters has funneled more than $2 million in campaign funds to her own daughter.

The Democratic Party is the single greatest racketeering operation on the planet — with every single federal agency, from the FBI to the DNI, and from the DOJ to the CIA, on standby.

Whatever cleaning the FBI and DOJ may have done so far is not enough.

Every year, the United States Government gives $40 billion to insurance companies. And that’s just the start.

The Official Story: When you buy health insurance on the Obamacare marketplace, the government helps in two ways:

1. They lower your monthly payment (premium subsidy)
2. They’re supposed to lower what you pay at the doctor (cost-sharing reduction)
That $40 billion is for #2, to make your deductibles and co-pays smaller. The Real Dutch Story:

The insurance companies get that $40 billion automatically. Every year. No matter what.
Congress doesn’t vote on it. Nobody can stop it. It just flows.

Here’s the scam: Insurance companies take that money, but your deductible is still $8,000. Your co-pays still suck. You still can’t afford to actually USE your insurance.

But Wait, There’s More Money Leaving Your Pocket:

While insurance companies are collecting their $40 billion, the big “nonprofit” hospitals are getting even MORE: $125+ billion in tax breaks every year.

They don’t pay property taxes, income taxes, or sales taxes

$28 billion in direct Medicare overpayments.

They get paid 60-80% more than independent doctors for the exact same service
Billions more in state and local subsidies: Free land, tax-exempt bonds, utility discounts

Here’s What “Nonprofit” Really Means:
These hospitals call themselves “nonprofit” but:
Their CEOs make $6 milly a year
They spend billions on marketing and lobbying, especially professional sports.
They buy up doctor practices to remove competition
They sue poor patients who can’t pay their inflated bills and take their homes. They have billions in investment portfolios

The only difference between them and regular corporations? They don’t pay taxes. You do, to cover what they don’t pay.

In Plain English: Your taxes give $40 billion to insurance companies AND $150+ billion to “nonprofit” hospital systems.

Then you ALSO pay $2,000 a month for insurance that doesn’t cover anything until you’ve spent $8,000 out of your own pocket.

Then when you finally DO go to the hospital, they charge you $200 for a Band-Aid and $800 for an IV bag that costs $1.

So you’re paying THREE times:
1. Through taxes (subsidizing insurers and hospitals)
2. Through premiums (to insurance companies)
3. Through bills (to hospitals with massive markups)

Who Wins? Lawmakers. Insurance company CEOs and shareholders Hospital system executives
Who Loses? You. Your family. Every American who actually needs healthcare.
The Dutch Line: We’re sending nearly $200 billion a year in subsidies to insurance companies and “nonprofit” hospitals, while they charge us a fortune on top of that and we still can’t afford basic medical care.

A new era of class warfare has begun in New York, and no one is more excited than Generalissimo Zohran Mamdani... Across 23 angry minutes laced with identity politics and seething with resentment, Mamdani abandoned his cool disposition and made clear that his view of politics isn’t about unity. It isn’t about letting people build better lives for themselves. It is about identifying class enemies — from landlords who take advantage of tenants to “the bosses” who exploit workers — and then crushing them. His goal is not to increase wealth but to dole it out to favored groups. The word “growth” didn’t appear in the speech, but President Donald Trump garnered eight mentions... People’s lives, in Mamdani’s world, can be improved only by government: “We will prove that there is no problem too large for government to solve, and no concern too small for it to care about.” The crowd cheered, of course, but a thinking person might wonder whether it’s good for the institution that has a monopoly on violence to insist that nothing is beyond its purview."

Critics like to say an independent Alberta would be “landlocked” and unable to get its resources to market.

That couldn’t be further from the truth.

If BC ever refused to allow Alberta access to tidewater, we could simply stop supplying them with fuel.

All the fuel in the Lower Mainland comes from the Burnaby refinery, which is supplied by the Trans Mountain pipeline.

If Alberta shut off the taps, the entire Lower Mainland would run out of fuel in less than five days.

An independent Alberta wouldn’t be landlocked. It would be highly leveraged in any negotiation.

What a complete loser dipshit

Re: Tips and tip jars.

Almost every place I shop now has a tip jar on the counter. I'm surprised I don't see these jars at the checkout lines in the grocery stores. It's coming.

I take the local paper on Sundays only just for the NYT Sunday Crossword. Today, I have a sheet of paper from the delivery person put into the paper package asking to send "kind gestures" to him and his family. It has a dedicated site to send these to. WTF?

UK beat Florida by 30 and it does absolutely nothing for me. I hate Stoops so much. All the total blowouts I sat through in my life with the hope of one day beating the shit out of them on the football field.... Nothing. LoL

Thanks for posting. This is literally the only thing that made my college football Saturday tolerable.

Seeing stores fully stocked and mostly empty is nuts. I hope people think ahead when they see the Dems and Pubs pass the next CR.

Those shelves are going to be sparse once the SNAP/EBT back pay comes in. Hope many plan at least two weeks stocked up.

Once that hits the media will start with lies about food shortages caused by Trump and Pubs.
