• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

All in good fun, brother! I just like burning sticks!
I am with you. I love a fire. I reluctantly bought the pellet grill last October. My buddy has one and his ribs were sensational. So i finally bought a Recteq bullseye deluxe. It can get to 1000 deg F. I cooked fajitas on it last week temp set 650. Was surprised how it performed. Today was 275 F and it keeps the temp + or - 1 degree. Probably better temperature control than most ovens. Add the smoke and you have a recipe for consistent success.

I can also use my weber rotisserie attachment with it.

I still have my weber, because sometimes i need that cave man fire that we all love.

Here is the rotisserie chicken cooked on the pellet smoker.

Yeah the ability to set temp and walk away for 6hrs is pretty nice. In early 2020 I bought a treager I love it. Makes me look way better than I am

Watching NBC10 live feed. 2 philly fans in a row just dropped F bomb on live tv. LOL. You can't interview philly people on live tv.
Mild compared to what was seen on TV on the lawn of the WH or the nude girl walking around at the Grammies. Heck, just about any video people post on YT about any subject is filled with F-bombs and more. Doesn't matter who is present. Grandparents (both) cussing like Sailors in front of their toddler grandkids and more.

My BIL bought pellet smokers for each of his SIL's 2 Christmases ago. This past Christmas each got a 10 round magazine fed shotgun. The BIL--me? Nothing! How rude.

After I left the CBP and went to work for a fumigation company in Houston, we would use laborers in the neighborhood. If we needed 6 men, they would walk into the office to give SS #s so we could collect and pay them their money. It was not unusual to have many of the same laborers giving the office manager the same SS #. That was 45 years ago.
