Dallas citizens, tired of the inept city council and their "defund the police" beliefs, passed new city Charter Amendments last week. One forces the city to hire 1000 new police officers. Now, Dallas officials are scrambling on how to do this. The first hired should be tasked with Traffic control. Shouldn't be hard to teach these people how to write tickets v storm drug stash houses.
Over the years, Dallas has refused to hire more officers, claiming no money, but found the billions to update the convention center and build parks over freeways. But little law enforcement. Seems like all these speeders, red light runners and other drivers are saying, "I have money--come get it from me." Yet, the cities find it's easier to just raise property taxes.
