• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

The weakness of the KJV is that it uses archaic words or words that no longer have the same meaning.
There's no weakness. It was the bible that evangelized most of the world. It was the primary bible to English speaking people for hundreds of years.

There are very few passages it can be truly said are mistranslated or confusing.

You're my kind of people.

I'm currently in Oxford and will be in Columbia tomorrow. Brought my girl down to visit the campus. She's deciding between ol miss, SC and Kentucky. She's in at Dayton (too close for her liking. Fair point. 6 blocks away is not her idea of going away to school) and Ohio State, which she never had any intention of attending. Just wanted to see if she could get in.

I drove to Dallas and back almost 2 weeks ago and will be driving to Florida in 3 weeks.

I LOVE to drive. I love to get lost on backroads and see where I end up. And I don't sleep for shit.

Would've gladly given yall a few recs on food places and whatnot in Oxford if I had known!

It was great for its time.

There are several passages that are hard to understand because the language is archaic.

Try the ESV. Its accurate, and takes great pains to reflect the language of the inerrant and infallible original Hebrew and Greek. (NASB as well.)

It is negligible.

From Strong's Concordance: Nahal a primitive root; properly to run with a sparkle, i.e. flow; hence (transposed) to conduct, and (by inference) to protect, sustain :- carry, feed, guide, lead (gently, on).

In fact, the KJV translates the very same Hebrew word "lead" 5 times, "guide" 3 times, "fed" 1 time, and "carried" 1 time.

Are you prepared to say that the KJV has it wrong because they translate nahal as "guide" 3 times?

(BTW, the NIV translates nahal in v. 2 as "leads."

Now what are you8 upset abou

I enjoy the biblical discussion.

Kind of off topic, but funny as hell:

Wife & I stopped at a pot store in BFE Oklahoma where they were selling shirts that said "I Love Jesus....and I smoke a little weed".

I talked the guy selling them for 30 minutes. He was a black felon from Chicago, did time over the products he was now legally selling. Ran into him the next morning at the only convenience store, he was on his way to church. Just living the dream.

That is why I love the great state of Texas..... as a lifelong Sooner fan.

Anyone else think that the MSM is doing more to ratchet up the Floyd trial than Trump ever did in DC. They are openingly rooting for riots and violence, disgusting. If it bleeds it leads ( especially after they instigate it)
Trial now pushed back. Judge dismissed the 3rd degree murder charge and the appellate court overruled the judge this weekend and “urged” the judge to reinstate it. Appellate courts rarely “urge” anything. Very odd. Now the prosecutors want to delay jury selection to give the judge time to consider the appellate court ruling. They don’t want to start a trial and have the 3rd degree murder charge added in mid-trial. Very odd.

Here is the real thing. The prosecutors overcharged the officer which almost guarantees an acquittal and resulting riots nationwide again. The 3rd degree charge stands a better chance if a guilty charge and avoiding mass riots. Do we have a slimy judge trying to force an acquittal and riots?

That's a great story! LOL!

Wonder if this is true

The connection certainly exists between the Sienna Schools and the Racine Dominicans.

Were they the one's who influenced the vote? I haven't found a smoking gun here.

They want both. Guilty verdict, immediate hanging and then riots and looting in celebration.

Fuck that, you aren't "clogging up the thread" with it at all! I can't imagine going through that at all and I try to prepare myself for the chance of it. My mother-in-law is a 2-time breast cancer survivor so the thought is always in the back of my mind. Anytime you need an outlet, we should all be here for our fellow Patriot!

A little behind, but I second this sentiment. You should know this venue is one where you can sound off on what you're going through, @America 1st

Thought the same thing. How is this different ? If not even worse ?

Even if you buy into DJT having a smidgen of culpability in the Capitol Hill debacle, it was over by 7PM - one afternoon. People were home or back at their hotel by 730PM.

This will be weeks if not months.
