Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

There was no vaccine at this time but Washington did order variolation of his troops for smallpox , which had been around for about a hundred years in the americas and reduced the severity of the disease. It was a risky move but smallpox was hurting our war efforts against the British. Still not sure why we’re comparing the two though. Smallpox is very severe. Death rate is a bit higher than .2%

Couple of quick things. I tested positive for Covid yesterday. So did my son who is nine. I got the Pfizer shots in April. They sure as hell are not a vaccine. My wife is a nurse and maybe had it last week along with my daughter and other son. But they are all doing fine. My son and I both feel like we have a sinus infection at worst
I’m 42 in pretty good shape. Exercise five days a week. So we should be OK. But please keep us in your prayers and I will keep y’all posted as to how all this plays out

Hang in there. I’m sure all will be well. I had it last month for a couple weeks and it was a little rough for me and I’m healthy as well. 1st week and a half was no fun but I treated a bit late. Took ivermectin 3mg pills the 2nd week and got better after a few days. Don’t lay around too much. I took some light walks and kept my lungs busy.
It is amazing the incompetence coming from the Oval Office and the lack of media scrutiny as compared to Donald Trump and the hysteria of him potentially starting multiple wars with major foreign adversaries, which of course never happened.
Also, if we did collide with a Chinese sub, that’s both terrible and somewhat promising. Not as it relates to Biden’s policy but as it relates to the commanders in the arena.

When my fully vaccinated husband and partially vaccinated daughter both /either (they seriously popped positive on the same day) gave it to unvaccinated me and Max.... the unvaccinated heathens were fine. I had a 99.4° fever off and on for a couple of days and was sleepy and mild muscle aches. Max? Nothing outside of his taste being off for a couple of days. The ones doing their part? Sick as dogs.
Just such a weird deal.
And now my daughter has some odd heart issue going on that they can't figure out. I'm sure it's nothing to do with the vaccine.... since she never had anything wrong for 21.9 years of her life.

We need to drop the term fully vaccinated and go fully governed or fully jabbed. I mean it’s not really a vaccine is it? I also like unindoctrinated instead of unvaxxed. Glad you handled the Wu-flu like a champ with heels on I’m sure!
