Yep. My biggest concern is Taiwan. Should be every developed nation’s concern.
Taiwan concern is also why Australia, UK, USA partnered in the nuclear sub deal. Australia is a perfect port for sub support for Taiwan.
Taiwan is being intimidated by China. China won’t attack with weapons. They don’t want to destroy the infrastructure. Taiwan doesn’t have natural resources. Taiwan has extremely sensitive micro chip manufacturing lines. They also have the highly Trained personnel to mange the machines, run diagnoses, order the maintenance equipment and parts, support the maintenance, order new parts, etc. If you want that, you can’t take it by bombing or shooting.
What China wants is not obtainable by force. They just want leverage. Like a Mafia promising protection for a fee.
Taiwans influence and command of the chip manufacturing will decline with time.
Every developed country is now investing in their own chip manufacturing infrastructure. 5 year timeline.
Taiwan will demand the worlds military and financial support to secure their chip production that all depend on. Taiwan will get the support. Financial, military, military tech, ports, etc.
China and Taiwan are both playing with a short term opportunity. I am sure they know this and the scare stories of China attacking Taiwan will increase. To both of their benefit.
