• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

So true my friend. This is some tyrannical bullshit we are all enduring. That’s why I say hold the fucking line. I would have never thought they would have backed off on some of these mandates. Perhaps there is more of this to come.

Right now, it does seem we are making headwinds on the covid front. My concern is they can release another virus/variant and we are coming into winter. Obviously, they aren't going to let covid fizzle away so I'd imagine a plot twist is coming

IDK for sure but I think the level, volume and sincerity of the vax resistance has surprised them. They are playing all kinds of games in the Navy but I think a solid 10-15% won't budge

My FIL got a bone infection from a rusty nail and was put on it immediately. It was really bad for him. He now has severe neuropathy, kidney damage, he basically shed his skin like a snake, lost all strength and it took about three months for him to get up and going again after he got on the mend.

Doc said it could take a year to recover from the reaction but he will still shed his skin (mostly on the legs and feet) and have bad spells of extreme exhaustion along with neuropathy that makes it very hard to walk or sleep.

At the peak of the reaction he nearly died while we cared for him in his home and he was in and out of the hospital all summer of 2020. I don’t remember the anti-biotic that killed the infection but he was in so much pain he said he’ll die before he ever takes vancomycin again. He’s lucky he’s not on dialysis.

Holy shit. I have never heard any of this about vycomyacin before. Prior to getting diagnosed with Chronic Lyme, I was going through a doctor merry go round. My primary symptom was always feeling like I was in a rocking boat anytime I was out of bed (still have this but very tolerable now). When I drove, this rocking feeling would become unbearable. An ENT wanted me to go to a specialist and get a Vycomyacin shot in my ear drum. Blessedly the specialist so no need to do this!

Were at about 12% of our command (a few hundred) who haven't gotten it and are filing for exemption. Most will get out if the religious gets denied
