SignUp Now!Yes, all of the lugnuts are like that. VW said if I dont have the lock to have it towed to the dealership. I said I live 40 miles from the dealership and I’m not paying thatAre they all like that? Never seen anything like that
This, it's a lock nut usually kept in the glove box. If you bought the car used and it is not there you'll have to get one from VWCheck the glovebox. Must people with locks keep them in there.
yep, total dumbshit move on my part. I always keep roadside in case of a flat. Also lol @ not checking this stuff out when you bought the car. Always check your spare and jack to make sure you can change a tire if needed.
Looks like a star key. Hit autozone they make a piece to link on a rachet. There should be one somewhere in the car. Ck owners manual.Bought a VW golfwagen thru Carvana last year. Have a flat tire now and the lugnuts have a “lock” on them (see pic below)
the key to the lugnuts is not in the car. I called VW and they were no help. Anyone have any clue how to get these things off?

Okay, that’s not too bad. Imagine if you were on the road and that shit happenedSorry,m no its atthe house. I ran over a nail and its flat. Woke up to it the other day.
I thought star bit, but I counted 9 points instead of 6, so some sort of Nazi security bit.Am I retarded or is that not just like a t-huge hex bit?
After reading this I zoomed in on the picture. Clearly made of plastic.]
@Croot_Overlord had the right idea. I got a coat hangar and Lo and Behold it’s a cover over the Real lugnut. All of them are off and tires are ordered and will be installed on wednesday
The fvckin VW people made it seem like it was ax expensive part to buy. I’ll never buy another one after this shit xAfter reading this I zoomed in on the picture. Clearly made of plastic.
you mean I donthave to replace my washer fluid, oil, filters And wiper blades every 2,500miles!!!?Ive gotten the wife two different sportwagens since 2015 and they’re great. First one was diesel and the second was a gasser I really miss the diesel but it was too much $ to pass up along with a brand new one that had 4x4.
But ya the lug nut key thing is pretty normal. Both VWs were brand new and had a key in the glovebox and a key with the spare tire stuff under the rear cargo. They’re usually shoved inside the styrofoam thing that the jack comes in right by the spare.
Most shops have their own lug keys for all makes but it sounds like ur a bit of a cuck that goes to the dealer to get raped with all their additional services that must be done at a certain mileage.
