He’s got a point.
But he doesn’t. One is a materially-proven violation of rules. The other is an allegation that has yet to be tested in court. And the existence of one offense should not mean that the other should go unpoliced.
With as tied in with sportsbetting as the NFL has become, it is even more important for there to be an absolute firewall between gambling and players/coaches/other team officials. Ridley is unfortunately the guy they caught, and the NFL will make an example of him. Maybe over the summer they cut it down to a half season or less, but they’re going to make him sweat it out and send a message.
Shit, our Congressman and women get to bet on the stock market before they pass laws. Sportsball is held to a higher standard than the people running this country.
Wonder if Argentina is nice this time of year.
