• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Best CFB Coaches Excluding Recruiting Advantages.....

Terrible. Take a lap.
Saban is clearly number one. You can’t be the gold standard of college football for 15 years without being a great coach. His whole program is built on NFL development and program management which is made even more impressive by the fact that he doesn’t have a natural recruiting ground / territory.

The next two probably get more with less than anyone in the country. NJ isn’t a trash talent area like Kansas which is why LL is above Schiano.

1A. Bill Snyder
1B. Mike Leach
2. Lavell Edwards

I am not ranking Kirbo. Saban would not make the top ten.
I'd say Spurrier was leach before Leach. But he was smart enough to get a good D coordinator and let them run it. Iir Leach just won 63-56 a good bit

He looked like this, but he was one hell of a leader of men.
