Back and neck pain

Who here deals with it? Mine always starts at my neck and then radiates down.

I used to manage it with OTC nsaids but that’s getting to the point it’s not working anymore.

I have scoliosis specifically the t4 area ever since I had some medical issues about 7 years ago after the hospital messed me up pretty good. The only thing I’ve found to manage it is either physical activity or drugs and physical activity.
It’s also good to have a chiropractor that knows you, your history, and pain threshold

I have lower back pain. I am a firm committed chiropractic patient.

They have helped me greatly.

Two visits and I am always back right.

I stay away from MDs and my back. I would not let a MD touch my back especially with a scapel.

When chiros stay in their wheelhouse which is spinal alignment, they are the shit.

Look at how many NFL and MLB teams have team chiros.

My back was killing me on Monday and I could barely walk.

My chiro just yanked and pulled on my legs one at a time and I will be damned if that did not help a ton. I mean he pulled real hard on my legs.

I am a 100% and it has only been a few days.

What is causing the pain? Have you determined that? I dealt with it for years, before it got bad enough to get mri & realize I had a herneated disc. Got a titanium one now, good as new!

I've dealt with low back pain off and on for probably 20+ years. It seems to go in cycles. I had a period of time that I had to go to the chiro weekly for several months, and then I've had years where it barely bothers me at all. The last chiro that I went to gave me a series of exercises/stretches to do that have really helped me a lot. I should do them all the time, but I don't. However, once I have a back flare up, I'll go back to doing them and it typically clears it up in a few days.

@Uncle Muscles

I sometimes have neck pain that starts up at the base of my neck and radiates to my shoulder blades. Causes a stiff neck that hurts like a mo-fo. Tried muscle
Relaxers and pain meds but neither help at all, they just put me to sleep.

What does help is sleeping with the right pillows. Getting a firm pillow or 2 or 3 to make sure my head and neck have good support when I sleep is key.

The other thing I do is sleep with a pillow underneath or between my legs. Bending your knees when you are sleeping takes a lot of pressure off the lower back.

Those super soft hotel pillows just crush me.

Anyway, a couple of easy and cheap things you ca. give a try.

How often are you going to the chiropractor?

I have dizziness/vertigo with occasional neck pain. I have 2 herniating discs at 6
C-5 &6. Do not think the herniated discs cause the dizziness/vertigo. Not BBPV or anything wrong with the Brain or inner ear. Currently on a beta-blocker for “vestibular migraines”, but doesn’t really help.
Pain and dizziness usually subsides with activity. My guess is occipital nerve compression or something. Anyone had anything similar?

My gf has vertigo symptoms. Have you considered finding an upper cervical chiropractor? Sounds crazy but they can really help vertigo symptoms. Very gentle adjustments unlike standard chiros. Its definitely helped her. I would look into it if I were you.

Will definitely give it a shot.
99% of the time it happens when I get up from sitting in front of a computer or turn my had a certain way.

I can lift weights, swim, etc and will be fine.
I played Golf this weekend for the first time since I started having vertigo and was completely fine.
Looked down at the grocery store yesterday & I felt like I needed to lie down. 🤷‍♂️

I'm sorry you're going thru all that. How long has it been happening? I'd guess your upper cervical discs are also out of alignment. I'd definitely start looking for one ASAP and tell them about your symptoms. Ask if they have experience working with patients like you.

Have you taken meclizine at all? It used to be a life saver for my gf when she has vertigo attacks. I think there's a non drowsy kind you can get. Hopefully that can mask your symptoms until the root causes are addressed.

I had a some vertigo last September when I had covid. No probs until Christmas. .My posture at work was awful for a couple of months after covid. Passed out & slept on the arm of a recliner on Christmas Eve. Woke up that morning & thought I was just feeling the overindulgence. Went rabbit hunting later that day & couldn’t focus. Went to my regular doc a week later, he gave me cyclobenzaprine. Just made me sleepy.
Went back to regular doc in late January & took an x-ray. Referred me to the ENT, they ran some tests & everything was “normal”

Went to a neurosurgeon in March who is a family friend (one of the best in the US) He told me to get back to lifting weights & work on my posture (MRI didn’t show anything abnormal on upper cervical spine. Just the C5-C6 issue.
Haven’t had any nerve pain down my arm since I started working out again, but still have vertigo & muscular pain in the upper CS region.
Went back to the ent in April and put me on a diuretic. That didn’t work
Was sent to a different ENT. Made me get a brain MRI. Totally normal. He put me on 20mg of Propranolol, and told me to call back in a month. No other health issues. Just a normal 33 year old and $4000 poorer. (Sorry for the long post)

I feel your pain. I've been in a similar medical situation before and it sucks. I strongly recommend you talk to an upper cervical chiro and tell them what you're going thru. Find a reputable one in town and get checked out. They can quickly scan your neck and see if you're out of alignment. Seems like posture could be playing a significant role in this. It's definitely worth a shot.

Have you tried getting in with a gynecologist? Maybe they could dig that sand out of your vagina, sounds like it’s pretty deep in there

Don't suddenly stop taking propanolol.
