Anyone worked in Antarctica before?

Just watched a documentary on working there. You have to do 6 months at least. Looks fun as hell. Anyone been there or know anyone that did that?

From october to april (summer there) about 5000-8000. During winter ( I would not stay for that period) about 1000-1500

Recently spent a good amount of time on Maps searching around Antarctica. Learned about McMurdo Station, read about it's history, used Maps to look inside buildings. Also, read about Discovery Hut. The accomplishments of Man never cease to amaze me.

(I'll admit, looking at the lounge areas of some of the buildings, pictures on the wall and such, it crossed my mind there's some scientist sex going on down there).

I was given the opportunity to go to Antarctica while in the Navy. It was a program called Operation Deep Freeze. I could have gone for 6 months but passed. Sort of have regrets that I didn't go.

Hardly anything is marked on Google Earth & others.
Hint; look for—& follow power transmission lines.

I saw this clip 20 yrs after the fact. A guy on my wrestling team in college always asked someone to put lotion on his back due to black folk being susceptible to sorrhiasus. We all hated doing it, but he was our teammate so we bit the bullet and rubbed away.
