The Dire Straits thread had me listening to Alchemy, which I had not done probably since 1990 and I had forgotten how good it is. Remind me about others I have forgotten.

Here are some of my favorites (in no particular order):

ABB-At Fillmore East
Kinks-One for the Road
Zep- Song Remains the Same
Rush- All the World's a Stage
Talking Heads- Stop Making Sense
Jimmy Page/Black Crows- Live at the Greek
Neil Young- Live Rust
Stones- Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out

Note- I am not including the Dead or Panic because that would make the list way too long.

All good picks. While both came out of the grunge era, both Nirvana and Alice In Chains live unplugged were really good.

The last waltz is obviously up there, but bob dylan and the band before the flood is also really good.

Edit: I also prefer the name of this band is talking heads to stop making sense because it goes through their career in live performances.

Had a double CD back in high school from Pearl Jam playing the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Some Seattle radio station broadcast it. Awesome show.

Good list OP. Allman Bros at the Filmore would be up there for me for sure. Can't think of a ton of live albums off the top of my head. Always enjoyed the 1991 AC/DC Live album, even if most of it is played out. Thunderstruck live is as good as rock gets imo.

Thunderstruck
Shoot To Thrill
Back in Black
Who Made Who
Heatseeker
The Jack
Money Talks
Hells Bells
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Whole Lotta Rosie
You Shook Me All Night Long
Highway to Hell
T.N.T.
For Those About to Rock(We Salute You)

Always liked the Nirvana Unplugged album.
This was an amazing one. Also surprising they played only a single one of their top top hits (cone as you are) in favor of back catalogue stuff and bringing in the meat puppets to do a few songs

That version of I Know you Rider and China Cat Sunflower off that album was my fav they ever did. Although for the Dead I love Dick Picks 8(or 44 can’t remember the skeletons on a purple carpet) where they did acoustic the first half of the show. Cold Jordan comes to mind as a fav

Pink Floyd Delicate Sound of Thunder. Can't believe I left that off my first list.

Live at Pompeii is pretty damn good, too.

Loving all the music threads! I always try and give a listen to everyone's selections. Some I don't know. Great way to find new stuff. Some I've known that have slipped through my brain like a sieve over the years. Nice to revisit!
Thanks, and keep it coming.

that was Harpur College 5/2/70. (DP vol 8)

You should listen to the acoustic stuff from Radio City Oct 1980

These are two of my favorite albums, period, not just live.

Ministry is criminally underrated & Slayer was as well for the majority of their career. I got too see Ministry & Slayer back in November of 2019. Think it was one of their last 5 shows. Phil Anselmo did all Pantera songs & Primus played as well.

Sadly the rare single live album, but one of my first two albums was Foghat Live! I Just Want to Make Love to You is phenomenal.

Metallica Live Shit: Binge and Purge, which was their Mexico City show in 1993. Great live album when they were in their prime and most of it is their awesome 80s stuff, since they had only just released the Black Album.
