Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Yeah, that's a bad loss for them. Even after they got a gift of a PK from the VARS replay system early in the 1st half.
What are the odds they threw the game for some Saudi $$$?
They had 3 goals taken away in the 1st half due to offsides. 2 of the 3 were legit and 1 was questionable. After that, SA got a little momentum and had a couple of really nice goals. Argentina had plenty of attempts but couldn't put it in the net in the 2nd half.
I can't believe Memo Ochoa saved Lewandowski's PK. Lew didn't get the best strike on the ball but it would've easily gone in if Memo didn't time it perfectly. Fucking Saudi Arabia is sitting pretty at the top of Group C after Poland and Mexico tied. Go fucking figure.
Yeah, it's going to be a tough road for MX to qualify though. I'm guessing that Argentina will still make it through with wins over Poland and likely Mexico. If SA can just pack it in on defense and play for some counter attacks, they might be able to get a couple draws and either win the group, or end up 2nd and still get through. Gonna be an interesting one for sure.

Whichever teams will go through this group will be lucky ones, the group has toughened up more than expected with SA just one win away from making history.

It's crazy how soft Germans have become. In the span of 110 years they've gone from having Europe on its knees twice to basically being the bitch in NATO. Looks like their political culture is showing in their national team now.
I was able to catch the Belgium/Canada match, tough break for the Canucks. Hard to cheer for them but I found myself wanting them to equalize in the final 15 minutes.
