Confucianism and all that shit means that it’s not good to stand out and embarrass your peers. As a consequence they have always stifled new genius and creativity at every turn. We are much better about identifying the Young Steve Jobs or Bill Gates and elevating them above their social standing to pursue their own ideas. Ever wonder why they steal so much? Don’t have any of their own ideas at all
