Why are businesses taxed at all?

If you want to get "the rich" to pay more taxes, as large owners of business equity, won't their pass through earnings be taxed at a higher rate at the individual level?

What are the pros and cons of no corporate tax?

Pros - Lower priced goods and higher wages.

Cons - Less money for government bureaucrats to waste on completely useless projects and research.
