This is a great question and, for myself, a really tough one. The Masters is amazing in every way you could imagine. You’ll notice you do not hear many, if any, pros complaining about Augusta and the way they set it up heat by year. To me, as a former competitive player, it means a lot. With that said, the British open is also amazing. Any golfer who is fortunate enough to play any of the old courses in Scotland know exactly what I am saying. The conditions are miserable much of the time and a smile never leaves you face. Imagine what playing for that major is like for the top players in the world? Maybe the most prestigious golf tournament you can win around the globe. The Masters and British Open are the cornerstones of golf IMO. Everything else is secondary, if that.
