Coz I really like you both, and reckon each of ya'll are legitimately awesome characters.
I've found that attempts at reconciling this in my mind have been unusually conflicting, -in the weirdest most comical sense.

Possibly, butt only as a desperate-last ditch effort to save money & fix this abominations mechanical failures.It is well known throughout the galaxy, that droid repair costs far outweigh the price of brand new - & skinless - cargoloading droids.
Also, to attempt this repair, I'd definitely require a hydraulic-extrication tool, an Atmospheric diving suit, several highly trained & heavily armed personnel + attack dogs, and probably one, maybe two, of those fancy cyanide tooth implants,...just in case
