• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

What are you listening to

after a play thru it just doesn't hit like 2003.
back to another shitty suno song bc there's nothing worth listening to any more and bc I can't record atm.
and every time I listen to my own records, I just want to make new hits.

A song for my daughters when I'm gone.
[Intro, eery & hopeful]
I still remember Dad's jokes, I try yo remember them but I just remember more of him

[Chorus x3, soulful & heartfelt]
Somewhere in a place, long ago
Where memories go to remember
What once was, long ago

[V1, sad & somber]
Silver grey hair & photos spread out
Didn't quite know what was going on
So I went on with my day
Which slowly turned into Dad turning grey

Never quite the same when I realized
We were different but the same
Like the day when I left to live my own life
I thot I was looking at an old man
Happy to see me begin my own journey
I didn't know he was letting go

Of the little girl who stole his heart
Right after mom he said her & I
Were exactly the same, now I drive
Just to remember some place in time

[Chorus]

[V2, hopeful]
These days the memories aren't the same
It's like sum things missing & yet everything's in place
Right where it's supposed to be

Still on the stillest of nights
I completely let the day
Catch me by surprise
And feeling like Dad's right next to me

[Chorus]

[V3, break & beat drop, empowered & charged up]
Dad's best advise serves me well
Ever challenge I've faced, I know
He's been right here with me

Some say when they gone
There's things U never get back
But what about what he's left me
A power no one understands
Now I understand who he was

[Bridge]
So I go to the empty spaces
And remember his face
Laughing at the jokes
He no longer tells

[Chorus]
